Wimbledon is a suburb of London, located 7 miles south west of Charing Cross. For most of the past one hundred years, Wimbledon has been internationally known as the home of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Wimbledon has a good collection of bistros, restaurants, pubs and a wide variety of independent and national retailers. The newly reopened New Wimbledon Theatre on the Broadway is also popular throughout London, bringing in a large number of West End Productions. The town is on several railways and Underground stations, which provide quick and easy access to London and the surrounding areas.
